Annex to Privacy Policy: Gaijin Account Connections and Data Sharing

Gaijin’s Games and other Services are distributed in some territories not by Gaijin, but by a local or regional operator (“Local Distributor”). This Annex explains the data-sharing process for users connecting their Gaijin Account with a Local Distributor's account ("Local Distributor’s Account") operated by a Local Distributor. For the rest of the information on personal data processing by Gaijin, please refer to Gaijin Privacy Policy.

You may find your relevant Local Distributor's contact information, privacy policy, and other details in the Legal Information section on the Local Distributor's game website.

By connecting these accounts, a user acknowledges that the processing of personal data associated with the user's account will be carried out by the Local Distributor. After the connection is done, Gaijin will act as a data processor for some data related to the Local Distributor’s Account where it is required to facilitate the technical connection and transfer of necessary information between the Gaijin Account and the Local Distributor's Account for the correct usage of Gaijin Games and related Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND LIMITATIONS

Gaijin and the relevant Local Distributor arrange data processing and share responsibilities as described below.

Gaijin's Role:

  • Gaijin does not have control over the data once it is accessed by the Local Distributor and is not responsible for the Local Distributor’s use of your data while operating your Local Distributor’s Account;
  • Gaijin serves as a data processor in relation to your nickname to technically enable the connection between your Gaijin Account and the Local Distributor's Account, as well as the use of the Games and Services.

Local Distributor's Role:

  • the Local Distributor acts as the primary data controller for your connected Local Distributor's Account;
  • as an independent data controller, the Local Distributor processes your personal data according to its own privacy policy and terms of service. Users are advised to review these documents to understand their rights and the Local Distributor’s data handling practices.

MANAGING AND DISCONNECTING ACCOUNTS

Your Local Distributor's Account is separate from your Gaijin Account even if they are connected. Any changes to profile information or preferences for the Local Distributor's Account can be made only via the Local Distributor’s platform. In the case of deleting the account with the Local Distributor, the Gaijin Account will remain active, unless otherwise specified by the functionality of Gaijin's services or communicated to the user through other means.

DATA PROTECTION AND COMPLIANCE

Data transfer between Gaijin and the Local Distributor adheres to relevant data protection regulations. For detailed information on data protection practices, users should refer to the applicable Local Distributor’s privacy policy available on the Local Distributor's game website.
