Community Guidelines: Forum.warthunder.com
IMPORTANT NOTICE. YOUR USE OF GAIJIN'S WEBSITE(S) IS GOVERNED BY THESE SPECIFIC RULES AND GAIJIN'S COMMUNITY GUIDELINES (COMMON RULES) AVAILABLE AT LEGAL.GAIJIN.NET/COMMUNITYGUIDELINES ("GUIDELINES").
THE GUIDELINES PROVIDE GENERAL GUIDANCE FOR USERS’ CONDUCT ON GAIJIN’S WEBSITE(S), INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, NAMING RULES, REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTS AND MESSAGES, COMMON VIOLATIONS, AND SANCTIONS.
THESE FORUM.WARTHUNDER.COM SPECIFIC RULES ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE GUIDELINES, AND BOTH SHOULD BE INTERPRETED AND APPLIED TOGETHER.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST FOLLOW BOTH THOSE GUIDELINES AND THESE SPECIFIC RULES WHEN USING GAIJIN’S WEBSITE(S).
1. SPECIFIC RULES REGARDING THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND THEIR COMPETENCIES
War Thunder Developers are representatives of Gaijin who assist the Administration and Website Managers in resolving technical issues and further developing the Game(s). The status of these representatives is displayed below their avatar in the Forum’s profile.
Several groups of Moderators include Technical Moderators, Forum Moderators, Suggestion Moderators, Senior Moderators, and others. However, there are no Global Moderators on the War Thunder Forum.
Game Masters do not moderate the Forum. Their responsibilities are limited to in-game supervision, such as moderating in-game chats and monitoring player behavior.
2. SPECIFIC RULES REGARDING THE TECHNICAL FUNCTIONALITY OF THE FORUM
Signature Size. A User’s signature must not exceed 200px in height, 1000px in length, or 150KB in total size. Users are allowed to use only one image in their signature.
Reaction (Rating) Points. Each User has 15 reaction points (emojis) available. These can be used to "mark" a message from another User. Rank points are awarded to the User’s account once per day.
3. TECHNICAL SECTION RULES
In addition to the general forum rules, Users shall not post:
- Incomplete bug reports (e.g., missing files or only providing screenshots without explanations).
- FM/DM reports without sufficient proof (e.g., reports where a User states something "feels" wrong, such as vague complaints about tank/plane performance).
If a bug or issue is reported, it must be supported by solid evidence (e.g., historical proof about armor, bullet count, etc.). The evidence should comply with Section 2.10 ("Conversational Media") of the Guidelines and the Military Restrictions Guidelines.
4. STATUS UPDATES
In addition to the Guidelines, Users should adhere to the following rules for status updates:
- Status updates must comply with the Community Guidelines.
- The account may be permanently suspended if a User’s status violates these Guidelines.
- Permanent account suspension operates on a two-strike system. The first strike is an informal warning, where the User will receive a Private Message explaining the situation. The second strike results in the permanent suspension of status update privileges. The moderation team will track these warnings.
- Sometimes, an update may be removed without warning, which will not count toward the two-strike total.
- Appeals regarding status update issues can be made to a Senior Forum Moderator via the Private Message system. Senior Moderators may involve others to assess the situation. The decision after an appeal is final.
5. REPORTING
Users can report violations of the Guidelines using the report button on individual posts or member profiles. For more significant issues, Users should contact a competent community member on the War Thunder Forum.
Users are encouraged to seek help from the appropriate level of authority first. Skipping levels or bypassing the hierarchy may delay issue resolution.
6. SANCTIONS
Users of the War Thunder Forum are required to comply with all aspects of the Guidelines, including the restrictions specified in Section 3 of the Guidelines. However, the War Thunder Forum also enforces its own penalties.
Penalties for violating the rules are categorized as follows:
Informal ("Verbal") Warning. Issued for minor violations. The User’s post will be marked with a red note indicating which rule has been violated. An informal warning (without a penalty) will be added to the User’s warning list. If the User repeatedly breaks the Guidelines, this measure will be replaced with a Formal Warning.
Formal ("Rule Breaking") Warning. Issued when a User knowingly and intentionally violates the Guidelines. The post will be marked with a red note indicating which rule was violated, and the User will receive a warning with penalty points on their warning list.
Every Formal Warning adds one additional penalty point to the User's account. Each penalty point increases the severity of the punishment, as detailed below:
1 point: 2 days of read-only access.
2 points: 4 days of read-only access.
3 points: 7 days of read-only access.
4 points: 14 days of read-only access.
5 points: Permanent read-only access
Suppose a User accumulates 5 penalty points (thus receiving 5 Formal Warnings). In that case, their Gaijin account will be restricted to read-only access, meaning the User will no longer be able to participate in discussions.
For clarity, the War Thunder Forum's Administration and Website Managers retain the right to impose more severe penalties for violations of the Guidelines, even beyond those listed above.
Users have the right to appeal after receiving punitive measures. Appeals can be made to a Senior Forum Moderator or Administration via the Private Messaging system. The Senior Moderator or Administration may involve other Senior Moderators or Website Managers to assess the situation. The final decision on appeals is binding.
7. POSTING LIMITATIONS ON CERTAIN WEBSITE(S)
There are restrictions on posting comments on news articles on warthunder.com (e.g., on warthunder.com/en/news). New Users can only add comments after playing at least 2 battles in the corresponding game. Additionally, there are rules based on in-game activity:
3 battles played: Allows the User to post unlimited comments for 1 week.
15 battles played: Allows the User to post unlimited comments for 1 month.
If the User is inactive in the corresponding game, they cannot post comments on the website.
