Gaijin Community Guidelines: Common Rules
These Community Guidelines (“Guidelines”) outline the basic rules of behavior on Gaijin Website(s) (including Gaijin official forums related to its Game(s), referred to as the “Forum” in the Guidelines), official social media resources, and other Service(s) where you, a User, may post commentary and other content related to Gaijin Game(s) (collectively referred to as “Gaijin Website(s)”).
All provisions of these Guidelines are consistent with the Terms and Conditions, including the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and are unconditionally binding for you. By creating a Gaijin Account or using Gaijin Website(s), you agree to these Guidelines in full, without any exceptions. You may not use Gaijin's Website(s) if you are not willing or able to be bound by the terms of these Guidelines.
Capitalized terms not defined in this document shall be interpreted as provided in the EULA and Terms of Service.
All the terms and conditions of these Guidelines apply to every Gaijin Website(s) regardless of the official language of such Gaijin Website(s). Some Gaijin Website(s) may establish their own rules, which are mandatory for the Users of such Website(s), provided they do not contradict these Guidelines (for instance, Appendices No. 1-5 to these Guidelines listed below). To avoid doubt, if any such rules on any of Gaijin's Websites contradict these Guidelines, the latter will prevail without question.
Attention. The Forum is intended for player communication and should not be considered a means to seek official support unless explicitly stated in these Guidelines. Please see Section 6 for Gaijin Support Service contact details.
Language and Interpretation. The English version of this document is the official version. In case of any differences or disputes regarding interpretation, validity, or form, the English version shall prevail.

GAIJIN WEBSITES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. SPECIFICALLY, THE ADMINISTRATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE FUNCTIONALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT OF ITS SERVICES. TO AVOID ANY DOUBT, GAIJIN (“ADMINISTRATION”) RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MODIFY, RESTRICT, OR CHANGE THE FUNCTIONALITY OF GAIJIN'S WEBSITE(S) AND FORUMS AT ITS SOLE DISCRETION AT ANY TIME. THIS MAY INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLEMENTING TECHNICAL LIMITATIONS ON POSTING, SENDING PERSONAL MESSAGES, CREATING CHATS, AND PARTICIPATING IN DISCUSSIONS OR CHATS.
1. KEY TERMS
1.1. Community. The community of Gaijin’s Website(s) consists of various participant categories, each with distinct roles as outlined below.
1.2. Forum. The Forum is a public space on the Internet where Users can communicate with each other and share their comments, views, content, and other information related to Gaijin’s Game(s) (collectively referred to as the “Game(s)” in the Terms of Service). The Forum primarily features user-generated content (please refer to Clause 2.10 of these Guidelines).
The Forum is typically organized into sub-forums or sub-sections, each dedicated to a specific topic. Off-topic discussions or any other forms of communication are prohibited and may be subject to sanctions as outlined in Section 3 below.
Gaijin’s Website(s) are post-moderated, meaning content is not monitored or edited before publication. However, the Administration reserves the right to review, modify, or remove content at any time, at its sole discretion, if it deems it necessary to ensure compliance with these Guidelines, the Terms and Conditions, applicable laws, Gaijin's obligations, or public order.
Administrators and Community Managers are official representatives of Gaijin and are authorized to provide official responses on behalf of Gaijin. They may also engage in Forum moderation. The text below their profile picture indicates the status of an Administrator or Community Manager.
Game Masters are individuals appointed by the Administration to assist Users in the Game(s) and ensure that Users adhere to the Game(s) rules. Depending on the specific Forum, Game Masters may also have moderation rights. The status of a Game Master is indicated below their profile picture.
The Administration appoints Moderators and Global Moderators to moderate Gaijin’s Website(s). They may carry out tasks similar to those of Game Masters, depending on the particular Gaijin Website(s). Additionally, they have the authority to edit or delete posts, close Forum threads without explanation, and manage other community functions.
The Administration appoints coordinators and National Coordinators to oversee the gaming communities within the project. The status of a Coordinator or National Coordinator is indicated below their profile picture.
Guests are visitors to the Forum who have not completed the registration process. They have limited access to most sections of the Forum and cannot use the full functionality of the Gaijin Website(s).
In general, Community Managers, Moderators (and Global Moderators), Game Masters, Coordinators (and National Coordinators), and other individuals managing Gaijin’s Website(s) (collectively referred to as “Website Managers”) are not employed by Gaijin and assist the Administration on a voluntary, unpaid basis.
The structure of the community and the responsibilities of its members may vary across different Gaijin Website(s).
1.3. Gaijin Account
Each registered User is assigned a personal Gaijin Account, which includes several mandatory parameters such as email, password, and username.
The owner of the Gaijin Account is solely responsible for any posts made on Gaijin’s Website(s) from their account, regardless of who authored the post, unless the owner's non-involvement is clearly and indisputably proven based on evidence assessed and confirmed by Gaijin.
Users not logged into their Gaijin Account are considered “Guests.” As Guests, they are not permitted to post messages and do not have access to the majority of Gaijin’s Website(s)’ functionalities.
If a User loses access to their Gaijin Account due to hacking or any other reason, they should promptly contact customer support at support.gaijin.net.
2. GENERAL PROVISIONS
2.1. Registration on Gaijin’s Website(s)
To be eligible for registration on Gaijin’s Website(s), the User must meet the requirements outlined in Gaijin’s Terms of Service. Creating a valid Gaijin Account automatically registers an account on Gaijin's Website(s).
To use Gaijin's Website(s), the User provides the necessary information for registering the Gaijin Account as per Gaijin's Privacy Policy. Each User is permitted to have only one Gaijin Account and may not create another account without the prior consent of the Administration.
By registering a Gaijin Account to use Gaijin’s Website(s), you agree that you will not:
• Use Gaijin’s Website(s) to post knowingly false, abusive, or obscene materials and/or any other materials that violate applicable laws, including but not limited to posts containing confidential information or governmental secrets (as outlined in the Military Restrictions Clause).
• Post any material protected by copyright without the right holder's consent. In the case of publishing such copyrighted materials, you must identify the authorship and the source of the materials.
• Disclose the content of private messages with other Users or the content of official notices (posts) from Website Managers without the express permission of the corresponding User or Website Manager.
• Impersonate other community members (especially the Administration and other Website Managers) in any way.
• Contravene any other restrictions and prohibitions outlined in these Guidelines.
The Administration reserves the right to remove any materials that violate the preceding requirements and apply appropriate sanctions to the Users who published them. Furthermore, the Administration reserves the right to remove any material considered objectionable at its sole discretion.
2.2. Usernames and Avatars
It is forbidden to use the following words, images, and other content:
In Your Username:
• Words, phrases, and idioms that promote discrimination at all levels, including national, racial, ethnic, and sexual.

• Insults, obscene, or abusive words in any language.
• Content that violates any other provisions of these Guidelines.

• Images, words, phrases, and expressions that promote discrimination based on nationality, race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.

• Insults, obscene language, or abusive images in any language.
• Content featuring pornographic material or depicting intimate parts of the human body.
• Content that violates any other provisions outlined in these Guidelines.
The Administration and Website Managers reserve the right to unilaterally modify the User’s Gaijin Account details if any of these violations occur.
These restrictions also apply to images and media files (as detailed in Clause 2.5) and User signatures (as detailed in Clause 2.6).
2.3. Content of the User’s Posts on Gaijin’s Website(s)
The official language of Gaijin’s Website(s) is English. The use of foreign languages, transliteration, or intentional distortion of the English language is discouraged except in sections dedicated to specific languages. For clarity, these restrictions do not apply to Gaijin's Website(s), which are fully dedicated to a particular language.
The content of your posts (messages) should be easy to read. Users must avoid using pseudo-graphics, colored text, excessive capital letters (Caps Lock), bold text, or font size changes in a manner that disrupts readability.
The subject of a thread (topic) in the Forum must be clear and concise, accurately reflecting the content of the thread. Writing in all capital letters is prohibited except for acronyms.
Users are not permitted to use red text in posts or signatures on the Forum. Red text is reserved exclusively for the Administration and Website Managers.
The Administration and Website Managers reserve the right to remove any thread or message, regardless of its relevance, the User's interest, or other factors. In such cases, the Administration and Website Managers are not obligated to provide further explanation for their actions.
2.4. Links
Posting links to external resources on Gaijin’s Website(s) is generally permitted. However, links to the following are strictly prohibited:
- Pornographic content;
- Descriptions of violent actions;
- Material containing profanity or incitement to violence;
- Promotion or sale of counterfeit products;
- Any websites that violate international laws, applicable legislation, or Gaijin's Terms and Conditions (including these Guidelines);
- Advertising of any products, both real and virtual.
Users are fully responsible for the content of the external resources they link to. By using such a link, you are leaving Gaijin’s Website(s), and Gaijin does not accept responsibility for or offer any warranties or guarantees regarding the linked sites.
2.5. Images and Media Files
Users are allowed to include images in their messages. However, when posting a large number of images, it is recommended to use the “hidden text” feature to help manage the space and improve the post’s readability.
2.6. Signatures
The length of signatures is limited by the specific rules of the relevant Gaijin Website(s). We recommend avoiding the use of pseudo-graphics in signatures. While signatures may contain animations, they should not be overly distracting or make the text difficult to read.
Signatures may not include links to external resources, except for Gaijin’s Website(s), unless the Administration grants prior approval. The number of links in a signature should not exceed two.
Specific rules for User signatures on each Gaijin Website(s) are outlined in the appendices of these Guidelines.
Signatures that do not comply with these requirements will be deleted without prior notice.
2.7. Rating
Each User has a certain number of “rating points,” for instance, a limited number of possibilities to react to the posts of other Users. Such a feature is determined by the functionality of the specific Gaijin’s Website(s) and is specified in the appendices hereto.
2.8. Technical Section Rules
Sometimes, technical Administrators may provide technical support related to the Game(s) in the appropriate Forum section. Users are expected to post content solely related to bugs, suggestions, or community technical support in these sections, in accordance with the sanctions outlined in Clause 3.6 of these Guidelines.
2.9. Attributes and Symbols
It is strictly prohibited to publish any texts, documents, images, recordings, videos, files, or other content associated with:

- Banners, flags, badges, armbands, uniform insignia, greetings, passwords, music, household items, or any other items representing the National Socialist German Workers' Party, the Fascist Party of Italy, or other extremist nationalist groups.
The Administration reserves the right to remove any such content and impose sanctions on Users in accordance with Clause 3.1 below.
2.10. Conversational Media
2.10.1. These Guidelines apply to any words, pictures, images, data, videos, information, or any other media that you upload, post, or share while communicating with other Users on Gaijin’s Website(s) (“Conversational Media”).
2.10.2. By posting Conversational Media, the User grants Gaijin, its affiliates, agents, licensees, sublicensees, contractors, successors, legal representatives, assigns, third-party service providers, and their respective partners and marketing agencies, a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable license to use the Conversational Media in any manner within the Forum, Gaijin Website(s), and/or the Game(s), or in connection with them.

- The posted Conversational Media does not infringe on anyone’s intellectual property or privacy rights, and it does not contain unlawful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing, or threatening content;
- The Conversational Media is free of viruses or harmful software that could damage or interfere with Gaijin Website(s), systems, or personal information;
- The Conversational Media will not disrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any Gaijin Website(s) or software;
- The User will not disguise the origin of any Conversational Media or impersonate others, misrepresent affiliations, or collect/store the personal data of other Users;
- The User irrevocably grants Gaijin the right to use the Conversational Media without attribution.
2.10.4. The User acknowledges that:
- Gaijin’s Website(s) contain Conversational Media submitted by Users, and Gaijin does not have complete control over this content.
- It is impossible for Gaijin to fully monitor or oversee all Conversational Media for legal or copyright violations.
- Gaijin does not guarantee the accuracy or quality of any specific Conversational Media posted, and some may be misleading, untrue, or offensive.
- The User accepts all risks associated with interacting with Conversational Media on Gaijin Website(s) and shall not rely on it for decision-making.
- Gaijin is not liable for any damage or loss resulting from the use of Conversational Media. Gaijin reserves the right to delete, move, or edit any Conversational Media without notice and may contact the User by email regarding their use of Gaijin Website(s).
2.10.5. If the User violates any of these rules, Gaijin reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove access to the User’s Conversational Media and take any other appropriate actions.
If you wish to report an issue regarding materials uploaded by other Users or false removal or blocking of your Conversational Media, please contact us at legal@gaijin.net.
ATTENTION. GAIJIN DOES NOT APPROVE OR ENDORSE THE CONVERSATIONAL MEDIA. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, GAIJIN AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, OR SIMILAR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF, OR RESULTING FROM, THESE CONVERSATIONAL MEDIA TERMS OF USE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR HARM TO BUSINESS, LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS, OR LOST REVENUES; HOWEVER, SUCH DAMAGES ARE CAUSED AND WHETHER BY CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHER LEGAL INSTRUMENT. THE PRECEDING LIMITATIONS APPLY REGARDLESS OF WHETHER GAIJIN HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH INJURY, DAMAGES, LOSSES, OR EXPENSES.
2.11. No Politics
Gaijin does not endorse or support any political parties, groups, movements, organizations, committees, or any entities maintained for political purposes. This includes companies, partnerships, corporations, or associations, as well as candidates for political office, in connection with any election, referendum, proposed bill, or any other political matter.
Gaijin explicitly prohibits the use of its Website(s) for political purposes. This includes posting any political symbols, logos, attributes, slogans, appeals, statements, or other content with a political orientation, whether in your posts, avatar, or signature.
3. RESTRICTIONS AND SANCTIONS
This Section outlines a general (illustrative) list of sanctions that may be imposed for violating these Guidelines. The Administration or Website Managers may apply a lesser or more severe sanction based on their discretion.
Sanctions can be imposed for both direct and indirect violations of these Guidelines. Even if a User’s actions don’t explicitly violate a rule, the Administration may take action if the behavior contradicts the overall principles of these Guidelines.
Some Gaijin Website(s) may have additional rules regarding punishments for violations. In particular, the Administration and Website Managers may implement different sanctions for violations stated in Clauses 3.1 - 3.15, depending on the specific communities, sections, or Forums dedicated to a particular Game(s).
In most cases, violations follow a three-stage sanction process. A third-stage sanction, or a more severe punishment, may be applied after a fourth violation of a rule.
